Disaster Preparedness

The devastation of this past weeks tornadoes in the Midwest and South will last for years to come.  Our hearts go out to all those who are suffering through this traumatic time.  If you need assistance or would like to find out how you can help visit the American Red Cross online or call 1-800 RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767)

We in the Northeast are lucky to rarely have to deal with the wrath of a tornado, but FEMA has prepared a site dedicated and designed to educate and information regarding what to do before, during and after a tornado strikes and other disasters (hurricanes, winter storms, wildfires, biological threats and more.)

Ready is a national public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies including natural and man-made disasters.

Ready asks individuals to do three key things: (1) build an emergency supply kit, (2) make a family emergency plan and (3) be informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses.
