April is Autism Awareness Month

Another April – Another Autism Awareness Month.  What has changed?

According to the CDC 1 in 88 children were diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in 2008.  That’s a 23% increase from 2006 when the prevalence rate was 1 in 110.  Autism spectrum disorders are almost five times more common among boys than girls – with 1 in 54 boys identified.  Chances are you know and love someone with Autism.  Let’s make this personal, lend a hand, and listen.
